1. Graphite materials can be used as refractory: graphite and its products have the properties of high temperature resistance and are mainly used in metallurgical industry to make graphite crucible. Graphite is commonly used as the protection agent of ingot and lining of metallurgical furnace in steel making.

2. Graphite materials can be used as conductive materials: in the electrical industry, they are used as the anode of electrode, brush, carbon rod, carbon tube, mercury positive current device, graphite washer, telephone parts, coating of television picture tube, etc.

3. Graphite material can be used as wear-resistant lubricating material: graphite is often used as lubricant in mechanical industry. The lubricating oil can not be used in high speed, high temperature and high pressure, while graphite wear-resistant materials can work at a very high sliding speed at 200-2000 ℃ without lubricating oil. Many equipment for transporting corrosion media are widely used to make piston cups, sealing rings and bearings from graphite materials. They do not need to add lubricating oil when they are running. Graphite material can be used as casting, sand turning, pressing mold and high temperature metallurgy material: because of the small thermal expansion coefficient of graphite and the ability to withstand the change of rapid cooling and rapid heat, graphite can be used as a mold for glass ware. After using graphite, the black metal can get the casting size accurately, and the surface finish rate is high, and it can be used without processing or processing, thus saving a lot of metals. The production of powder metallurgy processes such as cemented carbide, usually made of graphite materials into pressing mold and sintering of porcelain boat. Crystal growth crucible, regional refining vessel, support fixture, induction heater, etc. of monocrystalline silicon are all processed with high purity graphite. In addition, graphite can be used as heat insulation plate and base of vacuum smelting, high temperature resistance furnace tube, rod, plate, lattice shed and other elements.

6. Graphite materials can be used in atomic energy industry and national defense industry: graphite has good neutron retarder used in atomic reactor, uranium graphite reactor is a kind of atomic reactor with more application. The deceleration materials used as power reactors should have high melting point, stability and corrosion resistance. Graphite can meet the above requirements. The purity of graphite used as an atomic reactor is very high, and the impurity content should not exceed dozens of ppm. Especially, the boron content should be less than 0.5ppm. In the national defense industry, graphite is also used to make nozzles for solid fuel rockets, parts of space navigation equipment, thermal insulation materials and radiation protection materials.

7. Graphite material can prevent boiler fouling. The relevant unit tests show that adding a certain amount of graphite powder (about 4-5g per ton of water) in water can prevent the fouling on the boiler surface. In addition, graphite can be applied to metal chimney, roof, bridge and pipeline to prevent corrosion and rust.

8. Graphite can be used as pencil core, pigment and polishing agent. After special processing, graphite can be used in various special materials for the relevant industrial departments.

9. Graphite materials can be electrodes and graphite gradually replaces copper to be the material of EDM electrode.
